How Working Out Gave Me Self-Confidence

“I absolutely love going here! Working out is something I struggled with every day and then I found Kerry and his team and I am so happy that I joined! All the trainers there are amazing and very helpful. They care about your goals and will do what they need to do to help you achieve them. The trainer I work with is Roland. He really pushes me to do better and is always helpful if needed. He is also very knowledgeable and supportive! They help with meal planning and give suggestions on what I can do on my own when I’m not there. I’ve only been here for a month and I’m already seeing results! They don’t give up on me and are by my side always pushing me to do better. They have helped motivate me to be more active when I’m working out on my own. This place is a very positive and friendly environment. I would recommend this place 100%!”

That is an excerpt from a review I wrote almost four years ago when I became a client and started working out with Kerry and his team of personal fitness trainer for the first time. It changed my life.

I remember being very nervous and scared when I first started. What would they think of me? I was young (in my 20’s) but not in great shape. I was nervous because I had never done anything like personal training. I had barely ever even worked out. I had no idea what to do or how to do it. I had low confidence and low self-esteem. I’d failed at fitness. I didn’t think I looked very good. I was overweight.

In my first three months of working out with Roland and the other trainers, I lost 30 pounds! From being a failure, I was suddenly having success! It felt amazing.

The trainers gave me their complete attention. They didn’t judge me. They cared not only about me personally but about my fitness and life goals. In two years I went from weighing 217 to weighing 159. I gained new confidence and felt like a completely new person. It was wonderful – having these people who were outside my family and circle of friends but who, nonetheless, cared about me. They cared enough and they helped me reach my goals. They never gave up on me. I was ultimately able to do workouts that I had never thought possible. Attached are the digital images of my before, during and after appearance. No, I didn’t get taller – but I carried myself taller.

Working out with personal fitness trainers changed my life. I was able to get a promotion in at my work. I got married. I was able to carry a baby to term – something I had not thought possible due to certain health issues I have. I now have a son who is the light of my husband’s and my own life.

I am a great example of what it means to gain in self-confidence by working out. And I know that self-confidence changed everything. My improved appearance, made me feel better about myself. Feeling better about myself enabled me to better control my environment. I became a stronger person and less of a shadow. That helped me get a promotion at work. Simply speaking, I was a more impressive person. And success breeds success.

I have an understanding of the struggles to get healthy. And, now, as a certified personal fitness trainer, my goal is to help all my clients achieve success.
